Today and yesterday, we went to Angkor Thom. Angkor Thom is a temple built by the buddhists, with a similar style of architecture to Angkor Wat. It was built by Jayavarman VII around 1200 CE and was the seat of his power. It was also convereted into a hindu temple once or twice like the majority of the other temples in Angkor and Angkor Thom. I also ended up mapping Bayon (Bayon is the seat of Jayavarman’s VII power in Angkor Thom)!

I love mapping. I have mostly only mapped fanatsy worlds with little village names and mapping Bayon was a whole different style! One reason why it was so different was because I had to draw rooms. And in a world map there are no rooms!

Though I did not add decoration, like trees etc. But I think I might be planing to. There were three floors. One was the entrance area where there were plazas in all four corners. Then the second was the majority and I do not know really what it was for It had lots of rooms, mostly copies. And the third had the main temple and other smaller temples revolving around the center!
