Today, we are going to Bali! We woke up at 5:00am to get on our 8:30am plane ride. I took a last look at our house and then hopped on the taxi, which would take us to the airport. We got on the plane to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. I took a last look of Cambodia from out the window, the vast amount of trees spreading throughout the countryside.
We would take another flight from Kuala Lumpur to Denpasar, the biggest city in Bali. Bali isn’t a country, though I make it sound like Bali is a country. Bali is a small island just east of the third biggest island in Indonesia, Java. Java is just south of Borneo. Our house in Bali is in Ubud, a small town just north of Denpasar.
We took a drive to Ubud, and it is extremely hot! Even though it was late at night, the humidity was extreme. Bali is almost as hot as Zanzibar, and way more humid. I miss and don’t miss Cambodia, but I think I will love Bali! Bali is primarily Hindu, but not India Hinduism. There is a mix of other religions including Islam, Buddhism, and Christianity. Hinduism got to Bali when little Indian tribes/kingdoms came to Bali. I don’t know much more yet.
We are staying in Bali just like we were doing in Fuengirola. We will be in Ubud for 6 weeks, 2 weeks in three different places. We are not moving to any other cities, we are just staying in Ubud. We are planning to to kick butt with schoolwork here, and to meet some other worldschooling groups.
